With GoScore, you can capture your paper sheet music directly in the app and turn it into PDF files ready to read, store, and organize. In just a few steps, you can photograph pages, improve readability, and instantly add them to your digital music library.
Thanks to the built-in scanning feature, you can capture one or more pages, adjust framing, enhance readability, and save the result as a PDF directly in your GoScore library.
Requirements
- Android device with GoScore installed
- Camera available on your device
- Camera permission granted to GoScore, if requested

Scanning Steps
1. Open GoScore
- Open GoScore on your Android device
- Tap the menu in the top-left corner (☰) in the toolbar
- Select "Add PDF"
- From the dialog that opens, choose "Scan or Import Images"
2. Frame the sheet music
- Place the sheet music on a flat, well-lit surface
- Hold your phone steady above the page, making sure the entire page is visible
- Check that the notes and staff lines are clearly visible

You can:
- Capture manually by tapping the shutter button
- Or let the app capture automatically when it correctly detects the document
- Repeat the process for each page of the sheet music
3. Adjust the scan
After capturing, GoScore lets you improve the result before saving.
Recommended adjustments
- Crop the page to remove unwanted borders
- Rotate the image if it is not perfectly straight
- Improve readability by increasing contrast, if available
- Check that the content is clear and properly centered
For multiple pages
If the sheet music consists of multiple pages, continue adding them one by one until the document is complete.
4. Save as PDF
- When you are satisfied with the result, tap Save
- Enter a clear file name (e.g. Sonata in C Major)
- Confirm the save to create your PDF
Your sheet music will now be available in GoScore, ready to be organized, viewed, and used during practice, rehearsals, or performances.
Practical Scanning Tips
- Place the sheet music on a flat, well-lit surface
- Use even lighting to avoid shadows on the notes
- Avoid reflections, folds, and parts of the page being out of frame
- Keep your phone as parallel to the page as possible
- Scan one page at a time to create a cleaner PDF
- Always check readability before saving
- If a page looks blurry or cut off, scan it again immediately
